Let’s get connected

Get in Touch

Last week I finished a launch campaign for VA Prep School, a supported program to take entrepreneurs through the process of getting organised and hiring a VA.

It was the first time I had developed and promoted this program, and although I received a lot of interest, it wasn’t hugely successful in terms of sales, but it did highlight a real need for support on how to set goals – mainly because many felt that they aren’t ready or organised enough for a VA yet.

I conducted lots of market research with entrepreneurs feeling disorganised but ready to consider a VA highlighted the need to create VA Prep School and here’s what came out in my research:

– “I just don’t know where to start”

– “I struggle with the day to day AND the bigger picture planning”

– “I wake up without real goals and think: what am I even trying to achieve today? and flounder”
There is a layer underneath that is blocking so many people from helping people, making more money and having a life – and it’s specifically about how to set goals and make them happen.

As an Organisation Coach – this is exactly where the rubber hits the road.
This is the crux of it, and this is where I come in by getting clear on where you’re going, what you need to do and how you’re going to do it.

How to Set Goals – the Sustainable Sweet Spot Explained

Clarity is vital to setting goals

In my own entrepreneurial journey, I have learnt the power of clarity, and of knowing WHERE you are heading, HOW you are going to get there and WHAT you need to do to make it happen.
How to set goals and make them happen
How to set goals and make them happen – the Sustainable Action SweetSpot

This diagram highlights the Sustainable Sweet Spot.

Where these 3 elements intersect is the sustainable action, the sweet spot – and you need clarity to get there.

Get really clear on where your heading – Your goal and purpose

Get really clear on how to get there – Managing your time and productivity

Get really clear on what you need – the systems, structure and plan

Keep it simple Sally!
This is where you have momentum – sustainable action!

Once you are clear, you know exactly what to say yes to, and what to say no to, you feel balanced, and this is where it becomes easy to achieve your goals.

There’s a clear path to follow when you know where you are going, you know what to do, and how you are going to do it.
This knowledge alone helps you cut through ALL of the BS that we have to face in a day. The means less procrastination, distraction, hesitation, more reasonable expectations…. the mindset blocks become irrelevant!

With this clarity there is less hesitation, no where near as much procrastination, less FB scrolling and email checking.

Clarity is the key to awesome productivity, quick decision making, putting your blinkers on and managing the million distractions that happen all day.

There is huge power in clarity, and this is where I’m focussing my attention next.

There is a reason why “how to set goals that you can stick to” is a well googled question.
Goal setting and goal getting is a science.
It’s not easy, and I have had my own goals slip through my attention more times than I’d probably like to admit, but there is one strategy that stands out above them all for achieving goals – support.

It’s not easy to wade through everything you need to focus on on your own.
Having an accountability buddy, a coach or mentor that can help you stay on track, and focussed, to nut outreasure map workshopt the exact details so you don’t have to over complicate it is a priceless tool to have in your bag.
