It’s not often I get ranty, but this week I really did – and I’ve declared a Hustle Free Zone!
What’s the Hype about Hustle?
Well – I’m not really sure – unless you’re into getting your butt kicked.
Hustle is about work, work, work, work work (or at least that’s what Rhianna says.) According to some entrepreneurs, it’s the only way to make it. Don’t get me wrong – I’m not saying that you can make it by doing nothing.
Yes – you do need to work hard, but you also have to work smart – for you.
But at what cost? burn out? Feeling so exhausted that you actually start to let customers down because you can’t keep it up? Alienating your partner because he never sees you anymore? Snapping at your children?
We all value different things, but if you are working in conflict with your values, then this kind of hustle is at risk of leaving you empty.
Hustle Free Zone
Here are my three main reasons why I think the hustle should be questioned as a business strategy:
1. It’s not sustainable
2. It’s tapping into your fear of not being good enough
3. It’s not authentic
Watch my rant to understand why I’m so passionate about the Hustle Free Zone!
So if you’re in danger of subscribing to the hustle, or have experienced the negative impact it can have on you, you might want to step back and slow down. Setting up supportive systems, working in a consistent schedule that has boundaries, and clarifying your priorities will be a great start to living in a hustle free zone. xx
